Wrong. So very, very wrong. But amusing, nonetheless
I'm also amused by what Kardia (sorry, don't know how to do the link to another person's LJ. I don't want to, either) is supposedly giving me. But this is the one I'm proud of | You scored as Serenity (from Firefly). You like to live your own way and do not enjoy when anyone but a friend tries to tell you that you should do different. Now if only the Reavers would quit trying to skin you.

Random Radio, Sci-Fi/Western and Literature Intersection
Went to RRR Breakfasters OB today. Movie reviewer did "Top 5 films you should have seen this year" Serenity was number five. I cheered, and was acknowledged on-air for it. Between the talking, I was reading Njal's Saga (thanks, Kat - it was a good read). Breakfasters asked me on-air what I was reading, so it got mentioned out on-air. During the rest of the show, they asked me what page I was up to. Essentially, I inadvertently advertised literature that was not sci-fi/fantasy to a lot of people. *Is pleased* Seriously, go and read it. Not the nicest of books, and I suspect that lots of the story is missing in the translation (It is originally an epic Icelandic poem), but it is still good. One of those silly Blogthings | What Your Sleeping Position Says | You are confident and ready to tackle life. You are pretty vain and happy with your physical appearance. You are born to be the center of attention, and you're unhappy on the sidelines. You're always up for trying something new - in and out of bed! |
I prefer this version, probably because it is much more true: You have a bad back due to a sports injury that occurred in 1995. You require a specialised matress to get proper sleep that supports your back and stops it hurting. You sleep on your back because sleeping on your side, curled up, or on your stomach causes intense pain. You love your special matress and hate sleeping anywhere that has inferior matresses. --Arms are for hugging The Dandy Warhols-- Current Music: Caravan Part 1 - Yvette Johansson Quartet | | Monday, November 7th, 2005 | | 9:00 pm |
Farscape Thingy and Some Not So Good News
Austrek (Melbourne) When: 26th November, 2005 Where: Northcote Townhall, High St, Northcote. Theme: Farscape Guest: Paul Goddard (Stark) Tickets: $15 Further info: socialdirector@austrek.org Website: http://www.austrek.org/I think I might have triple-booked myself, though. I can remember one of the things I'm supposed to be doing that day, but the others are a mystery. In fact, the news is rather bad. Michael Piller, staff writer for TNG and creator/producer of DS9 and Voyager died of cancer. Serenity
For all of you that claim to be of the nerd persuasion, go and see this movie this weekend, and take someone along with you that is not a nerd. It's not just a good sci-fi flick. It's a GOOD MOVIE in and of itself. Then we can have more, and I'll be happy. Comprehend? Thanks to Leish for this... | You scored as Inara Serra. The Courtesan. You have a job that brings comfort to people and eases their burdens. It took years of training and dedication to perfect. So why do people keep calling you a whore? You tried to get away from those people, but something keeps bringing you back.

Emergency Update
The Louisville Sluggers are breaking up! Final show is Friday 28 October at The Basement. Naturally, I get this news moments after Bec bought the tickets for PoTUSA, who are playing on the same night. In Melbourne. I never got to see the new lineup, and it looks like I never will now. --Arms are for hugging The Dandy Warhols-- Current Music: As Cool as Kim Deal - The Dandy Warhols | | 8:55 pm |
*Bouncing around with excitement* http://www.villagecinemas.com.au/movie/movie_14440.htmUma Thurman???? Why not just film the Broadway cast? That way you're certain they all know what they have to do, and they all can sing, too! Of course I'm going to see it, though. Anyone else want to spend time with a nerd on New Years Day? Not as if I'm going to be doing anything on NYE. --Arms are for hugging The Dandy Warhols-- Current Music: The Bridge of Khazad Dum - Howard Shore | | Saturday, August 6th, 2005 | | 9:42 pm |

To: ALL PERSONNEL THAT CARE FROM: CO HAGGIS CENTRAL SUBJECT: NONE SPECIFIED All hands, please note that the CO of Haggis Central has decided to take a leave of absence. Seeing as his mind has been absent for a while, he decided to try and track it down and find out what's so good about where it is as opposed to where it should be. No-one shall be required to become the A/CO, because I can't be bothered designating someone with powers as my delegate. You'll know when I'm back. Now to amuse you is the result of one of the wonderful quizzes out there: I'm an Atheist!

Bad news, I'm afraid...
From: "Gadflys ." gadflys@hotmail.com To: gadflys@hotmail.com Subject: Omega Date: Wed, 18 Feb 2004 00:56:03 +1100 Hi everybody, This mail is to inform you all that the last gig performed by the Gadflys will be on the 28th of February in Adelaide. This will be performed in the Regal in the Garden of Unearthly Delights at 6.00pm on Saturday 28/02/04. There will also be a show preceeding this on Friday 27/02/04, at the same time and place. If you want to see the band one last time, then this is your last opportunity to do so. There will be no Harbor Cruise on the 21st of March, and of course, no more gigs performed in Sydney, or anywhere else other than the above.
Thank you all for your patronage and support throughout the band's long and colorful career. This email address will shut down shortly after the last gig.
They could have had better timing. Now I have to fly over to Adelaide the day after I see Bowie, and on the same day I was going to see Rebecca and Shane play for the first time since July last year. Oh well, it looks like I'll see Rebecca and Shane in April now...

The B-Movie That Suits Me Is:
Robot Monster: Although Blood Feast
might deserve this title better, Robot Monster
is known as the king of crappy movies. Unlike
Blood Feast, this movie played in major theatres.
One of the writters took it so seriously that when
the movie got much deserved bad reviews, he attempted suicide. In his mind it was art.

You're Donatello!
You're introspective and somewhat reserved. Definetely more brain cells than the average turtle, and you're something of a "Mr. Fix-It." You love to invent things, or fix broken stuff. You are quiet and serious, but do have a fun side. Try and let it show more often.
